Hi I’m Catifex and I want you to make your mouse’s work easier!

- This is a step by step on getting a therapist

- Need to find a therapist by location? Psychologytoday lets you search by city or zip code in the USA, Canada, or UK.

- Can’t afford therapy? No insurance? Need low cost options? Here is a great list of ways to get help when money or insurance is an issue..

Reblogging this in the hopes that the image of a sweet little mouse doing her best to make my emotions will help me remember to be kinder to myself.

Definitely reblogging for the much more helpful concept of a helpful mouse doing her best for the sake of people who regularly hate on their brain then wonder why that’s not working so well.

Thank you for watching Boruto #65, My director, Chengxi Huang gave me a lot of freedom in designing the choreography…Thank you very much. Momoshiki was supposed to use “ba gua zhang” and Naruto was supposed to use a “wing chun” esque fighting style. I hope those two fighting styles can be seen somewhat in my cut…

How TV Cartoons Are Made - A (Mostly) Simplified Guide

jessdrawz:

makingtoons:

When I was in school and wanted to work in animation, there was very little information about how cartoons are actually made. Even my professors at college knew very little about the industry as it is today. I’m sure it would’ve been better to study somewhere in California (like CalArts) to be better informed about this stuff, but I didn’t have that opportunity.

Nowadays, many kids in school have a dream career that they don’t really know much about. There’s a lot of missing bits of information and a lot of straight up lies that get circulated as fact as people try to scramble to put the pieces together on how cartoons for television are actually made.

I’ve been storyboarding for television for a while now, and there still aren’t clear resources for those wanting to get into the industry. I wanted to make the basics available to everyone, so here’s a quick rundown through the TV pipeline. Please note: all studios and productions are different. Even cartoons made within the same studio could have wildly different production guidelines. This is not a concrete explanation of how every cartoon is made; this is simply a generalized look at the “typical” television pipeline.

**DISCLAIMER** All images in this post have been sourced from blogs, twitters, scribd and flickr pages are publicly available, and no internal studio materials have been used that have not been already published publicly online. This post is influenced heavily by my own individual experience, as well as friends’.

With that said, this might be a lengthy read, so let’s go!

I know this is lengthy, but if you’re in art school studying animation, thinking about a career in animation, or just want to learn more about the TV animation industry, this is a MUST READ!!!!

Seriously. A lot of this stuff I had to learn on the job the first few weeks working in the TV animation industry. I really really wish professors taught me this stuff in college. This is invaluable information, folks.

Free Audiobooks and Ebooks on OVERDRIVE.

Free Graphic Novels (DC, Marvel, Image, etc), Music, TV shows, and music on HOOPLA.

Free music that you can KEEP on FREEGAL

You are PAYING for all this with your tax money - USE THEM. Most likely systems will have all 3 or 2 out of 3, so if you aren’t sure call your local library’s reference/information desk and how you can get set-up or started.

Hey, highkey from a library worker:

Overdrive has a new mobile app called LIBBY I find it easier to use.  It’s the same content as Overdrive just better for mobile.  Overdrive and Libby both let you send items to your kindle as well.

Hoopla been clutch

For my witches and pagan crew, Hoopla has a shitton of our sort of books, including some older Hermetic texts (you want Elphias Levi? He’s there), a guide to the Thoth tarot, Waite’s Pictoral Key, etc. It’s all in the Body, Mind, Spirit section.

Voice Demo Production and Feedback

I am opening up commercial demo production for voice actors. If you want to make a career out of voice over, most of your work will be commercial work and you need a commercial demo that gets out work.

Commercial Voice Demo Pricing:

  • Fully produced and directed Commercial Demo: $300 ($50 up front, $250 after demo is complete)
  • Demo compiled using actor’s previously recorded material: $150 ($50 up front, $100 after demo is complete)

Please read: Both fully produced and compiled demos come with an 1-2 hour Skype consultation, which will assess your strengths, see where you need growth, and ultimately determine if you are ready to have a demo produced. This consultation is covered by that $50 up front fee, included in the demo pricing.

In addition to demo production, I also offer in-depth analyses of actors’ current demos. If you need someone to really analyze your demo, to see where it shines, what could be better, what you need, what to cut, and ultimately give you deep, professional critique (for both character and commercial demos), I am available any day of the week.

  • Demo Analyses: $25 (up front)

Please read: Keep in mind, my feedback is always honest. I do not hold back, no matter your level of skill. I want you to succeed and having a strong demo that shows you at your very best is part of that. I will never, ever, ever be mean, but my feedback won’t be 100% positive either. Constructive feedback helps you grow and helps you make a demo that gets you work. If that sounds like the kind of feedback you want, feel free to reach out!

I can be reached anytime via PM if you would like to schedule any of the above services!
